Managing the Spring Flush

Now that we are heading into summer and mostly thru with the spring flush, I would like to know what you guys who do some type of rotational grazing handle the spring flush.
A popular MIG book promoted opening the gates and letting the cows keep it all picked down so as to not let the grass get away from you for a few weeks. And I have heard of others on other sites talking about rotating the cattle quickly during the spring flush.
I have just been plugging along with the daily moves at about an acre or less per day and dealing with the excess in other ways by clipping it or just letting it grow.
I'd like to hear everyone else's thoughts on it.

The flush did come on fast and furious, didn't it? I have three primary paddocks and each three can be divided by 3 or 4 when I have the time. One primary paddock has tree canopy for shade during the really hot weeks in late July/August. I have been working on rain and mud control around the barn and chute this year so I have been doing a poor job of MIG. Primary area one was grazed first and hard to get ready to do some trenching into the paddock. A third paddock became hay. I have put down fabric and stone around the barn so that I can start passing straws like grenades.
I have downsized to get ready for the drainage work and the small herd cannot keep up. They will be easier to get bred, I hope. Sound like you are doing things right. I enjoy clipping to make things look better, but it is not necessary most times.
