Post-calving vaginal discharge in Jersey cow

My 6 yr old Jersey freshened for the 4th time twelve days ago. Birth went smoothly. Cow passed entire placenta intact.
She has a great appetite, is acting normal, and her milk production is steady. Three days ago she developed some blood-tinged mucousy discharge. I have been finding little puddles of about 1 cup of the fluid on the ground after she rises from resting.
Should I be concerned?

Nope, sounds normal. As long as there isn't a horrendous smell all is good.

Thanks for your reply. This year's calf is huge, so I wonder if maybe she had a little uterine inflammation. Delivery went very well, but the calf was a good 20 pounds heavier than any of her previous calves.
He's two weeks old today and looks like he's 6 weeks old!

The uterus cleans out for a while after delivery, so some discharge is perfectly normal. When it has a horrible smell is when you need to be concerned.

Congrats on the big healthy baby!

Our Jersey did the exact same thing in the same time frame. My research also told me that as long as it didn't smell, it was all good. Honestly, after having many a baby myself, it all looked familiar to me.
