Mini Jersey?

Does anyone here raise Miniature Jerseys or another mini dairy breed?

I have a Mini Jersey X Dexter cow, and a "mid miniature" Jersey heifer (45 "tall) due to have her second calf in a couple months. I'm kind of backing away from the Mini Jersey scene after seeing how much crossbreeding there is behind the "Foundation Pure" animals selling for several thousand dollars each as calves.

My mid -mini heifer is AJCA registered and currently bred to an AJCA registered bull that was supposedly 42" in height at 2 years of age. Hopefully a small cute heifer calf will be the result. I'd like to stick with AJCA registered little cows that have a pedigree that goes back more than 2 generations.

We will have our first 50% mini jersey calves late this year or early next. We are working within the AMJA&R breeding up program. Over several generations, we will breed to a "native pure" status. I think the crosses will suit the needs of many small farms. We are breeding a mini jersey bull to a group of zebu cows. I am really looking forward to our first calves.
