Chafe or blister between udder and leg

I have a FF brown Swiss that calved this weekend. About 4 days prior to calving, her walk went into granny speed that I attributed to her bagging up and the calf dropping. She has still been walking gingerly, I thought due to calving. Tonight at milking, I noticed a tremendous stench coming from her. Very yeasty and nasty smelling. I poked around and noticed that she has what would appear to be extremely bad chafing between her udder and leg on one side. A large, thick flap of skin is also sticking out, sort of like a callous over a blister that popped. It was certainly the source of smell, and likely her discomfort when walking. Her udder is very red and raw there, but not like I would expect from some type of wound. I cleaned it out and applied a herbal antibiotic udder balm. What am I dealing with here? What is the right remedy?

If you just cleaned it tonight for the first time, I would see how it looks tomorrow.
She sounds very inflamed and sore still.
Her swelling should be coming down soon.

Check her in the morning.
Keep a close eye on her and take note of all her habits.
Is she limping bad?
Does she have a lot of discharge?

What is in your herbal antibiotic bag balm?
Have you been using that all along?
How is she doing in the milkbarn? etc

Obviously on-line opinions are only that.
Vets are the ones who are best educated.

Good luck
