Out on pasture at last!

It finally got warm enough for the cows to go out on pasture, we like for them to graze mid April till late October. It has been so cold, and last year was so dry, that we only got them out on Monday. I think they are all happy to be out!

It took forever to get them out this year, didn't it? I just put ours out 2 weeks ago.

My family has always called that first foray onto pasture for the year "jail break".
You can catch sight of senior milkcows who generally NEVER move quickly,
bucking around tossing their heads and with their giant udders swinging pendulously
as they leap around in absolute euphoria.

I always slightly dread the squirty poo though.

Oh I miss the running!
All the cows we have now are so sedate, you won’t catch them running or bouncing.
Before we moved and sold most of the heard we had a quarter acre lane the girls took out to pasture and every spring they would have to run out and back to the barn at least three times, with any heifers always finding a way to go thru the fence on the way by time everyone stopped to eat and the fence was fixed I must of run six miles

Thanks, I'm so proud of my calves, they've just grown like weeds. We reseeded that pasture last year then the drought hit so the alfalfa died but at least the grass is alright.

Where are you located in WI? Your herd of crosses looks almost like ours.
