Another Milking machine Question

I'm about to buy some type milker for home use. Several people have recommended Perrysmilkers.com which is around 1200. One of my friends got hers there and it works well. But she has to be super careful to not get milk into the vacuum pump.

Is there not a way / some kind of part you can add, that prevents that happening? Anybody made there own??

That is one of the reasons for adding a balance or reserve tank to the system.
In a smaller system it is basically a piece of large PVC pipe with the connections to the pump and to the system near the top and a drain of some sort on the bottom.
It allows any liquids to drop out of the air flow before they reach the vacuum pump.
In bigger systems the drain is operated by the vacuum, in its simplest form it is just a flapper on the tank that is sucked closed when the pump is running.
On a smaller system it could be a small valve like for a hose screwed into the bottom of the PVC pipe and you would have to manually open and close it.

Thank you, I know I'm asking a lot of questions but I'm not having much look googling for answers. Helps a lot to get some leads on here!

Theres a guy similar to the perrys milkers guy up north somewhere (I can't remember where at the moment) buy he has better prices and in my opinion, better milkers and customer service is amazing. I posted his info in another thread not too long ago but if you can't find it and want it, I'll post it again.

The only time I get milk in my vacuum line is when there is water between the shell and the inflation. That can happen when you wash up if the bottom of the shell where the inflation comes through gets submerged in water. Have your friend check that to see if that's the problem.

I originally had a Perry's Milker that was the Surge bucket converted to the long hoses attached to a DeLaval claw. I liked it fine except the Surge pulsator is more trouble than it's worth.

I switched to a DeLaval bucket with an Interpuls pulsator and like it much better. I use the same vacuum pump I got from Perry's and the shells and claw.

Ok... At the last minute we just went with Perrys Milkers because so many people have said to go with him. Would love to save some money but if the milker doesn't work I sure haven't saved any money! So just got what I could afford at Perrys and want to thank y'all for the advice.
