ahhh Christmas

Saturday I went out to buy the boy a roll around tool chest. Got it home and wrapped while he and the wife went out shopping and stopping at our friends farm so the boy could get his payday for working.
They finally made it home and immediately the boy has figured out I got him a toolbox...To throw him off the scent I said no, it might be just a bag of milk replacer in a big box.
Unknown to me while picking up the boys payday, the wife had purchased a newborn Shorthorn heifer calf and actually did have a bag of MR hidden in her Blazer to be wrapped as my present....
So after 3 days of razzing the kid about getting milk replacer for Christmas, I opened my gift and found it for real.
This afternoon we picked up the calf and she is a beauty.
A very cool Christmas! I hope everyone had a good one too.

She is pretty, congrats! Our cows gave themselves a Christmas present by lifting the bale ring off the hay. I suspect the bull did it but didn't see.

Question sammyd.

How long is the tie rope on that girl and does it work well? I've often thought of staking them out to the barn wall when the calf pens get full but have never tried it. How does it work out?

Great looking healthy calf.

two pieces of twine.
The folks we bought him from keep them tied with about the same in the old stall barn.

Good name, but I hope she didn't earn it in a bad way, LOL! About time for another photo, wouldn't you say?

Happy New Year to you!
