Delaval part find!

What a find. We're always looking for extra parts for our Delaval milkers. These ended up coming from Puerto Rico!! The person we talked to had a grandfather that thought he might have some. Granddad was originally from New York. He got a job working with dairies in Perto Rico, Cuba, Haiti and Dominican Republic, back in the 30`s and opened up a co-op dairy parts store. The dairy business slowed tremendously down there after Castro took over and Granddad is now 99. So Granddad was contacted and said he'd sell all his extra parts to us as he loved the idea that they'd go to a dairy that was still in operation. And he said these milkers moo`ed in Spanish. hehe > Thanks Marc

Well now you will be able to use your old DeLaval stuff until you are in *your* 90's!

Wendy, I would love to be going to the barn to milk cows when I`m in my 90`s, I have spent most of my life in that barn. Think I`ll be creamated and spread my ashes in the barn, might keep a cow from slippin in the pooh. hehe. > Marc

"Cream"ated..lol It's great to have a story to go with your parts.... Back when I used to drive an antique stagecoach for an amusement park I went into a feed store out in the desert. The owner was an old man who had old harnesses hanging on the wall. I think we talked for 2 hours about pulling contests from the 1930's...I so wanted to take those harnesses with the stories home...hubby was not having it..

enjoy your milking with visions of senoritas dancing in your head.

Old ones like that are getting hard to find!
Some of my earliest memories are helping to wash our jerseys and hearing those pulsators run, just love the sound they make
