We weaned calves by putting a little less milk replacer in the same amount of water every day until he was drinking plain water. It was easy for them switch over to water when that was all they were getting anyhow. 6 to 8 weeks is normal. The important thing is having them eating really well at the time, which it sounds like yours is doing.
