Three out of four ain't bad Willow....Those gals look like they could really run up a chow bill. Maybe you need to plant some turnips next year. I know you love um, they are surely are in good hands....Thanks for the photo.

As a side note, now understand I'm not trying to create work, but in another season or two your water trough hay feeders may disappear into the waste hay mountain....Maybe putting up one of those bicycle rider safety flags may help during excavation....I know you have a great sense of humor, so smile your gals are....Topside

Yeah, Lil is my red-headed stepchild for sure! Well, she's as big as a Holstein, anyway. 
She really takes after Stacy, her maternal grandmother, who was a very large, long-bodied Holstein.

Yes, I just paid an excavator a small fortune this summer to haul off my waste hay mountain! I keep the poops scooped up daily, but the girls insist on rummaging through their feed and eating only the choicest bits.

Love those facial markings on the two on the left! If ever cows looked "entitled," it would be this group, LOL! You did well to get them all facing the camera. When I try it, I end up with a couple of rear ends.

Thanks G., actually I was backing down the driveway to leave and saw they all lined up like that and happened to have the camera in the truck! I just rolled down the window and snapped away, about 6 pics and in every one, a different cow was looking somewhere other than at the camera.
About their faces, I've seen thousands of cows, but never another one marked like Bitey. She is an original!

I'm totally LOL'ing. The one in front reminds me of my Mom's cousin who HATES to have her picture taken and will tell you all about how she hates it while the camera's snapping away! She looks like she's saying "Hey now! You KNOW this isn't my good side!"

Yes, she also was named for her facial markings! Remember, my girls all started out as cows in the herd that I milked, so I didn't put a whole lot of thought into their names at the time.
Christine was named after the evil car in the Steven King novel, because of her nasty disposition in the parlor! Kickiest heifer I've ever seen, and she NEVER gave up ... or made much milk ... which is why the boss put her on the truck. 
I admired her spirit, though, so I went to the auction that afternoon and bought her. It's been almost 9 years and even today, if you touch her udder, that hoof comes up like it's attached by a lever.

Haha, it DOES look like she's saying that, doesn't it?
Actually I have more pics of Christine than the rest put together ... she's usually in front and I think she likes to mug for the camera.

Nice cows and hay.
I am hopefuly loading up the last one of my orginal Angus cows today. I could not get her and one other on the trailer Saturday. She and I were tired.
My vet friend and mentor will help me try again late this afternoon. She is from his herd years ago.
She is so wide that she will not fit into my portable chute and head gate and she will not step up into the trailer. I did not get her bred this fall. I hate to see her go. The other became a handling problem too that stirred all of the other up.
