Changing things up

Well, after conventional stall barns and organic grazing and parlors I have decided to get back to simple.
We were milking a few goats at home and that was fun but I have a nice little shorthorn heifer left over from the organic herd and am planning on keeping her as a family milk cow.
So the old goat pen in the garage went away and a tie stall is going in.
I all ready have the vacuum and power supply for pulsation in another corner of the garage so running some PVC for the milker will be a breeze. I may even hang some steel pipe so I can hang a portable automatic take-off I have up and really milk in style

The last of the goat pen, the kid cave

Busting into the concrete, thank goodness the kid is old enough to help out...

After messing around for a while I finally decided to get the heifer in her new stall. Her being out and running around where she shouldn't be helped decide the matter...
Of course I wasn't smart enough to wait for the boy to get home from school so I spent half an hour or so trying to get her collar on.

So here is our new tie stall, in operation.
Total cost was around 200 bucks. New stall and neck chain, instant concrete, wood for forming the stall, and a stall mat.

I bought a Freudenthal stall, which was a lot cheaper than a Berg stall.
I live less than 30 miles from either manufacturer which is kinda handy.
