Well now that is exciting. I hope his personality turns out better than my guernsey bull's. Norman, was very vocal, made lots of threats and thank the Lord above never followed thru with any of them on a human. But the day he moved the 500 gallon propane tank was the day we schedule him an appointment with the butcher. He tasted mighty fine.

I didn't have any trouble with the jersey bull other than acting like an idiot when it came feeding time and he would bounce around like a puppy. My bulls know to stay clear. I do know I will not ever leave horns on another bull. I left them on the jersey and he was well aware they were there, never used them but it's a weapon I wished he didn't have.

Good for YOU! I was hoping that you had won him. Will you still be getting a bull calf from Ozark Jewels?

Congratulations. I'm so glad someone got one. Just think of all the little heifers he's going to give you!

Congratulations, myersfarm. He appears good sized already! How old? Tell us how you will handle him when you get him home...separate quarters, pasture, grain, vaccinate, deworm???...all the details! We can learn from you!
Added: Oh yeah, more photos when you can, okay?

Nice bull, hope he turns out to be all that you want him to be. We don't have many Guernsey cattle around here, so it is nice to see such a fine bull. Seems like all we get to view around here is good ol Holstiens with the odd Jersey tossed into the mix. One of my old friends had a Guernsey cow and I couldn't believe how tall she was. I would have spoiled her rotten though as she was such a nice cow to be around. Good luck with your new bull.

Are you going to offer him to breed any other cows in the area or just your girls?

Just my girls.....they guy i talked to about him said his mother has won so many shows as a 2, 3, 4, 5 year old and will be in the shows this year if she wins they might want to collect on him when he gets 2 ... winning in the show ring and giving so much milk he might become something to talk about....the guy was very disapointed I did not buy a few of the Reg Gurensey cows to bred him to later

Probably a little early to ask you this, but are you going to test him for A2 milk? If he is A2/A2, that would be a plus if you decide to collect him!

Seddon since his mother is so good and his dad is Reg. AI bull...if they were i am sure they would be bragging about that also so I dought it....not important to me....if they want to check him for that they will pay i am sure......
I really do not see any of that happening.. I do see the mother being bought and flushed from here on ....I do not see my bull worth more than breeding my cows..and going in my freezer

That's a lot of milk. Is that typical for Guernsey?
