Never too old to like milk I guess

Well, my Evie Lee is back in her milking groove again and until I get a couple of bottle babies I have milk running out of my....anyway. My poor dogs have had the scoots for a few days now bless their ever loving hearts. Tonight we had the bigger calves in the corral and I was waiting on them and had my bucket of milk sitting there. Bonnie, who is 20 months old and had been bucket raised, was sniffing around on it and started salivating like a dog! LOL! So, for the gets of it I opened the bucket to see if she wanted it...she had that thing downed in seconds! LOL! Then was wanting more and drooling for more...of course she's been weaned for many months now. I just got a kick out of...

Now you wil see Bonnie with the scoots in the morning too.
Amazing how quickly they can be 'unweaned'.

Why are you not making butter and cheese with all that lovely milk?
It gets tiresome, I admit.
Kind of like dishes and laundry, the milk chores are never 'done' for long.

Glad to hear Evie Lee is doing good.

You and me both! LOL! I was so worried something would go wrong like my Elenore that I was scared to touch her almost! LOL! But she is doing good and seems to be ok with the calf running loose while I milk which is good...we didn't start that way. LOL!
At first her milk was SOOOOO thick I grew aggravated with the straining process as it took too long (I use the bounty paper towel strainer lol). Then I saw one quarter had thicker milk and made me worried about mastitis but there was no heat, clumps, blood, anything. It is gone now so I'm thinking that was just the last of the colostrum working itself out. She is loving her grain so easier to catch now. We had a sprint match there for a few days and I was pretty convinced I was too old for this. LOL!
