Thank the Good Lord for the precious rain that allows the turnips and lots of other goodies to grow!

Congrats That hurricane helped you guys out. I have given up on the turnip planting here still no significant rain and too late now. Maybe some rye or wheat.

myersfarm, you've inspired me to try turnips, got my seed today and will spread in the morning, hoping for rain this weekend. We hit 95 today so the temps are still warm enough for planting.

Make certain all the turnips get eaten prior to Spring. As they rot with the weather warming the stink is terrible!

I love to watch cows eat turnips.
Even the leafy hybrids like RaptorT will throw some substantial roots occasionally.

After a rain you can see the cows out there with their heads up rolling those turnips in their mouths
and drool hanging all the way to the ground.

It gives their milk a unique (but not unpleasant) bouquet.

When I was a kid, my dad and I would jump in the truck ang go to the alfalfa field.
He'd get out,, walk around the field and pull some turnips.
I couldn't handle eating cooked turnips,, raw wasn't so bad.

Topside, scalloped turnips sounds awesome. 375 oven?

The turnips I put out are still in the stage where they have the first pair of leaves. It has been dry until tonight, though, so I expect some movement.
