Our beef critter/pony =]

My boyfriend works on a dairy farm and brought this calf home when he was only a few hours old. He was supposed to be in our freezer this year but my boyfrined has decided he's "too skinny" (personally I think he's got attatched) but wanted to share some pictures with everyone. Enjoy!

HAHA, I can. The jersey steer we got this year is named Bacon. The pig is name Tasty. So I have Tasty Bacon to go with the Eggs from the chickens. I can eat em just fine.

Very cute pony/critter you have there.

Yep, the more you play with them the harder it is to do the deed. He is a holstein, so he could stand a few more pounds. His brisket isn`t filled out yet, so he will take more feed for sure. > Thanks Marc

I dont think we're going to eat him We already started bottle feeding another calf. He's 5 days old right now and we're not playing with him everyday and babying him like we did with the other. We're going to put him in the pasture with the other cows in a couple weeks (when he cant walk under the fence!) That was the big mistake with Tio...we had him posted out on our lawn for almost a year. He is a little skinny. He looks like he lost some weight out in the pasture with the other cows. I just assumed it's because he's a lot more active now.

I'd just go ahead and make an aponintment at the butcher shop with the price of feed going up faster than gas a frezzer full of beef may look better this january than a pair of hungry eyes with a big appitete :-)
