Pasture size swag mistake

I would like to leave this breadcrumb for my fellow newbs. I *almost* made the mistake of buying too much seed because I was taking a casual guess at how much acreage I was planting. I have a 40 acre pasture that has a wee bit of woods. I had the nagging feeling that I better go check it out before I ordered. I used one of those google maps acreage calculators. Turns out my wee bit of woods was 12 acres. Almost every 40 acre chunk that I have has some sort of non-pasture bite taken out of it.

Web Soil survey is a nice tool to use also. It will give you your soil types for a given area that you can draw on the map. It will also give you the total acreage.
