Seed rationing?

I was talking with the owner of our local feed/seed store today.
He said he drove to the grain distributor mill this morning to buy winter wheat seed and they would only sell him a partial load.
They are expecting a shortage of seed and are trying to spread it out evenly amongst the buyers.

Is this happening everywhere / other places as well?

Anyone who has seed grains up for fall sale here is advertising it hard and taking names with limited seed to sell.

neighbor didn't get all the seed he wanted this week. Lots of folks planting stuff like wheat and triticale after taking their corn off early.

Supply of Spelt seed (sort of like winter wheat)is short. Last fall was too wet and without snow cover some fields were damaged. So, this year's seed crops are in short supply and sold out early..

My neighbor tried to buy two tons of wheat seed yesterday and only got one. He ended up going to the local feed mill and buying two tons of feed wheat. It's not certified seed but should have a good enough germination rate seeing that is was only about 2\3 the price of "seed".

I think in times of nationwide drought we're going to see it.

We had a good wheat harvest here so not seeing that here. Our bins are full of unsold wheat. I'm curious about seed beans and corn next spring. Seed reps say no problems and there's a supposed price drop but well see.
