Still basically new to cattle

I got a bottle bull calf last spring Mayish and then bought a bottle baby heifer calf at 12 days old. I took great care of them they think I am their mother! The thing is I really dont know a ton about cattle and names. I do know now that they are NOT cows...lol as I have always called all cattle. I know what a bull steer hiefer and cow is. But can someone explain some of the other names to me like feeder calf and finisher calf etc or is there a website or somewhere with what all of it means. When I look on craigslist there are names i dont understand...I now have a longhorn steer and two bred heifers.

Experience is a great instructor, but if you want to do some reading on cattle and their care, I'd suggest any or all of the following, all by Heather Smith Thomas:

Getting Started with Beef and Dairy Cattle, 2005
Storey's Guide to Raising Beef Cattle, 2009
Essential Guide to Calving, 2008

You can google "Cattle Books" to find other titles by different authors.
