Heifer today!

My 12 year old Jersey delivered a lovely heifer calf today!!! And she still looks pregnant! For a old lady she has a wonderful body condition! I am hoping to get the camera out and take a photo of two of her tomorrow.
myersfarm and April like this.

Congrats Oakshire, always nice to get a heifer. Should maybe think about keeping this one to replace the old girl someday soon, she may not last to many more years. > Thanks Marc

Congrats! Looking foward to pics. Keep an eagle eye out for signs of milk fever in your older cow, she sounds like a good'un.

I gave her a shot of calcium as a preventive measure, the old girls daughter went down HARD with milk fever a few weeks back, so I was not going to take any chances. We almost lost her daughter a few times! That was her second calf. Annabelle, has never had a problem with milk fever before, but at her age, I am not taking any chances.

I will remember the camera tonight when I head out for the evening milking.
