Clemintine had her calf (Pictures have been added)

Hubby was walking around a little bit ago and saw that Clemintine had her calf. Of course no camera.

I'll go down in a little bit and snap some shots.

Congratulations!

Be careful with Highlands when you calve in the summer, Highland calves are prone to getting fly strike this time of year. It's a good idea to use a small amount of pour on ivermectin, measured to the weight of the calf, to help reduce the possibility.

We use a cap full permethrin 10 in a 20 oz. spray bottle. On our highlands just mist them
and few flies. Mist mom while your at it. They learn fast brush in one hand fly spray in other they line up to get brushed and sprayed.

Now Marc, to a point about the jersys. You need to see a baby park cross calf at a couple of days old. But, I do love the looks of the highlander babys too.

This is the first we have had in the summer months. I'll make sure I spray her and mom both. Thanks!

The others have been born in fall and winter

Mom looks to be silver does calf have black/dark grey stripes on nose and hooves if so she should be a brindle. Nice looking cow and calf.
