Hmmmmm....I will start with saying that I suck at guessing weights. Now that that is out of the way....I would say around 790-815

That is the fattest Jersey I have ever seen, too.

I'll guess 925 lb.

Just got home, he weighed in @ 1015# and costing me $287.90 total: kill fee, cut, wrap, & vacuum sealed.

Pick up date is May 29 for those folks interested in hanging time.

Agman: I'll cut and paste feeding history from previous thread:

Just to use as a reference: Bottle raised, calf starter for 6 months, grass and hay for 16 months, five pounds of cracked corn per day for one month, 8 pounds of cracked corn per day for one month. This steer will be 24 months old by May 11, the day he packs his bags....I'm guessing by May 11 he'll weigh in at 900 pounds....Topside

WAIT he was only standing on 3 legs when I figured his weight....LOL LOL

Topside since you thought 900 that gives you another 115 pounds of meat roughly .... could I upgrade to a porthouse instead of the hamburger ?

Tad it's live weight @ .28 cents a pound....I wish that was hanging weight price, but of course that's impossible for a Jersey.,,,,Topside

Top, that is a nice looking steer, I have seen bigger, had an old boy near me that use to feed out steers and he had a couple jersey steers that would have made yours look tiny. Folks you can get jersey steers big if you feed them and they have the frame for it. Top has it figured out for sure, good job ole boy. > Thanks Marc
