Bonnie at 13months...big enough??

Here is my Bonnie now. She is 13 months old and half angus and half jersey. She's standing next to my daughter who is 5'3" ...do you think she's big enough to breed within 2 months? She is finally starting to grow some and a total nut. You know how hard it is to get pictures of pet cows? LOL! Took forever!

I am wanting to breed to her to a low birth weight angus or possibly a jersey but I've about convinced myself to just breed her angus that way I can either sell the calf and get more at market or butcher it for us (jerseys sell for nothing here at auction compared to everything else).

I realize that Angus have all the EPDs in the world to help you choose for AI, but I would suggest breeding her to a small Jersey or Dexter for her first calf. She looks very nice but appears to have a delicate frame, so why not give her an advantage the first time around?

A live small calf is worth a whole lot more than a dead big one......I would go with the jersey...the price difference in the breeding to the two different bulls...will be well worth YOU NOT HAVING TO worring about the breeding to the jersey
