Dun Dexter Cow for sale

We stopped breeding registered Dexters and now cross with a Lowline Angus bull for grass fed beef. One heifer that we kept is a polled dun, very correct, but small heifer. I waited an extra 6 months to let her breed but she has stayed reletively small and is now about 30 months old. She went into labor a couple weeks ago, after a while, I check the calf and it was breached. I called the vet and the calf was dead. She could have had the calf, had it been the right direction, so sad. The vet thinks that she was in labor all day but being backwards, the calf never showed itself. She is doing fine and was up grazing when the vet left the farm.

At this point, we are considering culling her for beef because she won't be raising a calf this year and we want cows that are a little bigger frame score.

I'd rather sell her to a Dexter breeder than butcher her.

Name: Franciscan Faith
She is out of our best cow, Corretta, and our original dun bull, Shome Breaburn.

If you're interested, let me know. I can text or email pictures.
IF you get her soon, you can breed her to your own bull.

I fully expect her to.

She's doing well now and is on excellent pasture.

Dexter x Low Line Angus

Wstevenl

Interested to read you cross your dexters to a low line angus as I have considered this as an option for producing the 'ideal' animal for selling beef direct (rather than selling through the sale barn as Agmantoo does for example) Having researched both breeds it would seem that these cattle are suited to the rotational grazing as per the 'Other' rotational thread especailly in terms of size/frame score and both have the ability to finish off grass alone plus all the other favourable attributes agmantoo's looks for in his herd.
In terms of the off spring how do they compare/perform, what can I expect?? are they similar to, or follow either the dexter or angus or a good mix of both??
One thing which stood out for me was the kill out % of the low line angus carcase, whats your experience of this?. I know finishing time, weights can vary depending on specific locations and set ups etc but at what age/weight do you slaughter for best results??
Another thought I had was whether it would be worth gradually selecting and retaining the best dexter x angus off spring in order to eventually have a closed herd?
Id be interested to hear your thoughts and experiences!

I don't have much time to reply right now but I'll make a couple of notes.

#1 We are only occupying 10 acres of pasture and have 30 head of cattle as of now. 8 cows

#2 We are planning to retain our best crossed heifers to eventually have a closed herd. I'm already keeping two bull calves intact to consider using on half sisters. (totally undecided at this point)

#3 As of now, the crosses have been much beefier than the straight Dexter calves that we have had.

We do have a few Dexter cows that have proven heir worth in calving earlier each year and raising healthy calves each year.

Did I read this right? Ten acres, 30 animals?
