Are Holstein Calves normally such Benevolent creatures?

I'm used to being around goats so raising this calf has been a whole new experience for me. He listens better than the goats, he leads and ties fairly well, and he is really gentle with the baby pygmy goats who are sooo tiny compared to him. Is this behaviour typical of your average 7 month old calf or is he an exceptional steer? I've noticed that the mama goats purposely leave their kids in his care, more than once I've found him with baby goats bouncing all over his back and cuddled up next to him. I suppose he has no idea he's a cow, the only animals he's ever known have been cats, chickens and goats, which might help explain why he is so good with the baby goats.

All depends on their temperment..I've had holstein steers that are really mean and some that you can put a 6 year old on their back and they will walk around the pasture and give them a ride...
We have the opposite though when it comes to goats and cows. Our year old doe I think sometimes thinks she is a cow. :haha:

I think you have a real exception!!! Everytime I have tried putting steers in with the lambs they have acted like typical steers and started jumping on the lambs so I had to pull them out. Sounds like you have a real gentleman!
