all about poop...new calf

I tried to post this to the calf sticky but apparently did something wrong so sorry if this is a repeat!
We are first timers and purchased our first dairy cross bottle calves on Saturday (five days ago). They weigh approximately 45-55 lbs. From what the middle man said they had been fed through a tube and were less than 3 days old. One was a little rough off that night (had runny poop and was lethargic, didn't want to stand or eat) but perked up after having two meals of eletrolytes and was back to milk replacer with in 24 hrs. He is doing great now.
The second calf came to us doing great and on day two I fed him too much (learning here) in the am but he seemed to recover by the next day. Monday and most of Tuesday he was great. Tuesday night we noticed that his poop was runny, and then Wednesday I noticed it was not only runny, but had some blood in it. The blood appears to come at the end of the movement. Consistency would be that of buttermilk probably, thick liquid. Yesterday it seemed a bit mucas like but today it isn't. He is up when we come out, hopping around, bright eyed and has perky ears. I pulled his neck skin into a tent as another post recommended and it goes right back so he appears not to be dehydrated. He keeps getting his poop all over him but does try to clean it off but I wipe him clean instead. He is eating Grade A Ultra 24 milk replacer three times a day for a total of 5 pints a day (2 pints at 6am, 1 pint at 2pm, 2 pints at 9pm). We fed him 2 pints of electrolyes this morning in hopes of giving his system a break and replenishing fluids.
We have given no antibiotics or vaccines and have give only non-medicated feed.
My question is should I stick to the eletrolyes for two days (as the re-sorb package recommends) or try to get him moved back to milk and just feed him less? Does he sound sick or just still adjusting?
We are just going on book knowledge here so it helps to hear it from some other people. -Thanks

The blood in the poop is from the intestinal lining irritation, runny poop causes that, no worries. Mucus looking blob in poop is common too, looks like jello. Again no worries....Topside

As far as your last question goes, only you can make that decision, that's how we learn. Re-sorb Pfizer has been around a while, they must be doing something right.....Topside

Thanks topside...I think I needed the 'no worries' bit the most lol! Glad to say the poop is normal now. We are upping their intake a little bit and switching to 2 feedings instead of 3 and they are doing great
