Sally my blind cow is due March 19th

My Sally girl is due to calve on the 19th, some of you might remember last year when I posted pictures of Sally and her bull calve that was born on January 10th, I have been so hoping for a heifer calf from my girl, but Sally just can't seem to have a heifer, this calve will be her 4th and she has always had bull calves. Sally's bull calve that she had last year I traded for a heifer calve with my two brothers that have taking over the cattle farm, we have anywhere from 40 to 50 calves born annually. I picked out a Black Mollie face heifer calve that was born in May of last year and she has been Sally's room mate. Sally lives in her on pasture lot that doesn't have anything that would cause her danger and when she comes in heat, well one or both of our bulls always lets me know by standing by Sally's fence line, Sally bred on June 10th last year one day only and stood, I seen the deed done and turned the bull back out the next morning. I let the bull back in Sally's lot 19 days later and he didn't show any interest in her or her in him. Both of our bulls would have showed interest if she didn't bred and would have been standing at the fince line and Sally is very vocal by calling to the bulls when she's in heat. I seen nothing that would have lead me to think she didn't bred the first time. I knew I didn't want any earlier calve then middle of March this year so I waited to bred Sally in June. I did move Sally this past weekend up closer to the house so I can check her with a flash light from my back porch during the night, we do have to be there when she calves because with Sally being blind I'm very afraid Sally may not clean her calves face soon enough after birth, but other then that Sally is a great mom and loves her babies. Please send out prayers that all goes well for Sally this year and that she has a HEIFER...

She has history of being a good mother...what she can't see on the calf she will certainly be able to smell and will be diligent about cleaning up her calf. Enjoy the new addition.

We used to have a blind cow we kept for the bloodline. She got so old that she couldn't produce enough milk for a calf but did come into heat and had a calf each year.
