Question Price for Jersey Milkers??

Hi everyone,
I have a 4 year old Jersey cow. She is a gentle cow and trained for handmilking. She is bred for a June calf AI to Jersey. I really haven't thought about selling her but a friend wants to buy her. What would be a fair price? We are located in Nebraska. Any ideas?
Thanks

Depends on how good of a friend and if you will replace her in the future. I would think that $900-1000 would be a bare bones price to a GOOD friend unless this type of cow is very plentiful in your area. This is a young cow that has a lot of years left and long term bred to boot. Think this over well before you set a price!!!

How about you keep the cow and sell the friend milk.. What you have is on the top end of value for a jersey. Just being broke to hand milking is worth a lot to someone who never taught a heifer to let you milk her. Being AIed is also a value point especialy if she has a heifer calf. Don't take less than $1000 unless you have no use for her yourself.
