Question What kind of heifer is this???

She is advertised on Creigs list in Lubbock Texas on Friday Jan 13th Says Jersey heifer bred. I dont know how to add link to this page from Creigs. Just wanted to know if this looks like a full blood jersey or not, she looks odd to me... What do you all think?

I don`t know what it is about this heifer, but she don`t look right to me. And way to much money, dairy heifers have come down alot this last few months. I would want to talk to the vet. myself to make sure she is bred. > Thanks marc

If she's a 2 year old I'd shy far, far, away from her for that price. Looks stunted and wormy by what I can see in the pic. She's a $500 dollar heifer by today's sale barn standards at best in my opinion.

Rangy and well, UGLY. Not a $1000 dollar cow, that's for sure. Looks like she was put together out of spare parts.

OH Paso the color is right on..
.I have one I raised from my milk cow that color..she is 3 and had a calf this year..will look for a picture of her at that age...Rene

.and the owner knows thats the right color for a jersey...why he is selling it as a jersey for $1400 and it might just be a jersey...but to me the horns at the base are to big to be a jersey

Picrue was taken at 1 about a year old give or take a few months.....look at her horns how small they are..she is now hornless...but I have seen longhorns that same color at the feed lot with horns like your size around.....plus from one side of horn to the other side the POLL IS WAY TOOOOOO WIDE

hope this helps

I`m kinda with Tinknal, I think that was why I said she looked odd, she does have that freemartin look to her. And I think she may have some brown swiss in her also, her ears are to big for a jersey and the ring around her nose to very distictive. I think I would pass on her, unless you could get something out of the vet. > Thanks Marc

IMO that is a predominantly corriente breed cow. Known locally at the sale barn as a mexican rat. Notice how broad and flat the area of the muzzle and above is. This to me indicates a much older animal. She will bring less than $200 to an informed buyer.

Looks bully to me. She also looks like big head , small body could have been short on feed at one time in her life. Pass

Based on the 2 ropes around her neck there is no way she is a milk cow. Unless you do it from a squezze chute.

You'd think she'd be a lot fatter if she's due in April. She looks pretty drawn up and thin and has a really LONG face. I agree, not a $1400 cow!

corriente or longhorn. Seems to have too much flesh to be corriente though. Least the ones around here. Guess they thought dehorning it they could pass it off but the dehorning wasnt done right.
