weaning a bottle calf

I have a situation that I am not sure how to best handle. I have a 2 1/2 month old angus bull calf. His mom dies of bloat when he was 6 weeks old. Up until that point he was nursing well and growing rapidly. After she died he went through an initial depression and didn't show much interest in feed. We got him on the bottle and he is thriving. I have started him on Calf Manna which he eats about 1 pound per day. he also grazes pasture grass and eats grass hay. When is he old enough to wean off the bottle? What is the best method for doing this? He currently gets 2 quarts twice per day. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

He is getting all the feed he needs if he is grazing and eating pellets(give him all he wants).Just take him off bottle..He will do ok.Sounds like you are doing all the right things.(idontno)

I agree with idontno. Sounds like you are doing the right things. Our calf was weaned at about 7 weeks old. I just took him off the bottle. He didn't have any problems. Some calves may bawl for a few days, but don't let that bother you. If he is eating calf starter, hay and pasture, free choice he'll be okay.
