Some Photos from the last While
Well, it was a little cooler here today. Just +3 C for a high here today, rather than +12C. Absolutely unreal weather for this country! Usually we are -30 about this time of the year. Whatever the case, I have to say I love the weather, makes for easy feeding, and the cattle are of course all doing really, really well. Calves are growing like weeds, heifers are happy and the cows, are still out grazing part time...They are only getting about 2/3 of the feed that they would usually get, and they are looking awesome!
Plus I've been able to do some riding in this lovely weather. The only problem is the ice, but it is almost all gone now too!
Anyways, here's some photos from the past few days....

Great pics. What is the spotted cow in the second to last pic? Was there a mysterious stranger in her Momma's past?

Thanks for the perdy pics. I esp like the sweaty horse.
Your cattle have their winter sweaters on, just waiting for winter to come for real.
Heck, I am worried that the dairy cows here in southern MO are going to throw their coats off before Feb.
They were sweating a bit behind the ears tonight coming down from the top field in 70* weather.

Thanks everyone, glad you enjoyed seeing a bit of my world!
tinknal, I imagine she's got a bit of Longhorn in her past. Her mama was a cow we bough and she was a polled red and white cow. More Angus in build than longhorn, and we bred her back Angus and got this black and white one. I really liked the way she was put together so we kept her. She keeps us in beef cause she likes to throw spotted calves, so we like her ;~>

Great photos! No snow? Are you having a milder than usual winter there too?

Nope, no snow. We did have some, but it all melted off. Made things pretty icy around here for a while though. We are having an amazingly mild winter. Probably 30-40 degrees (celcius) warmer than normal.

Beautiful pictures! It does look cold on those open prairies. Bet you get some winds out there. Do you watch Heartland up there?

Yeah, today outside, kid you not, my Daffodils are sticking out of the ground and wanting to bloom. Could not believe it. I'm going to have to cover them up come Thursday. It is in the 50's, 60's here.

We do get some wind up here. There is almost always a breeze. We sure aren't the windiest area up here though. I haven't ever seen the show. But then, I don't watch that much TV. Bout all I watch with any regularity is the Dog Wisperer.

The show Heartland takes place in Canada, a horse ranch, Amy takes in problem horses and works with them. Pretty neat, beautiful scenery and funny too. We do not get new episodes in the US, only from Season 1 and 2 so far. I do watch them online too. Canada is up to season 5 now. Not a reality show, it's based on the books, hour long new story each week.

I've seen the ads for the show, just never watched. I believe it is shot in Alberta, but could be mistaken on that. Too bad that u don't get the new episodes. They might be on DVD up her though, I could look if you're interested.
