Cow Shares?

anyone heard of this? looks like it would be a way to get milk without all the regulations against it. I'd gladly pay for a "share" in a cow to get milk again. I could again make butter-and cottage cheese and...

Not only have I heard of it, it's the only legal way to sell raw milk in TN. I have also sold cow shares and goat shares to customers...Worked out well for both parties. At the moment I'm not selling milk, just don't have the extra time....Topside

You don't have to have cow shares in Missouri. It's legal to buy fresh milk off the farm here.

Nope, we can sell milk straight out of the cow right off the farm for any kind of consumption. We can deliver it too, but I don't. Here's a link to the Missouri rules: http://www.realmilk.com/happening.html#mo

We can't do cheese unless we have a commercial kitchen and inspections and such. I haven't really looked into that much.
