Red face Jumping in- blind and stupid!

Ok, I'm doin' a deal over craigslist....trading our welsh/quarter pony for a mini hereford heifer, sight UNSEEN. They are delivering her Saturday morning sometime. Not halter broke...dam died when she was weanable but young. We'll see. With the horse market being soooooo bad, I can't say as I'm too worried. They are getting a really good sturdy gymkhana horse and we are getting either a breeding prospect, or at worst, a critter that can go to freezer camp down the road. I did get some pasture pics of her and she seems ok. She'll quarantine for a bit and we'll get her vaccinations in her and then she'll turn out with our Jersey heifer and freezer camp bull calf. I'll post pics when she arrives.

With the horse market the way it is, I'd say you made a good deal. I just GAVE away my horse! People are wanting dead broke for nothing! Hay is gonna get high and the horses just ain't sellin'. I got a horse now, the one my 14yr old daughter rides, he'll proly be another freebie! People just can't afford to buy/have horses, taxes on property, cost of feed, vet bills, and no one has the TIME to enjoy them anymore.

Bull calf? Mini heifer? If he isn't bred to throw small, small calves, I wouldn't pasture them together.
