How long for results?

I bit the bullet....I pulled hairs to test for A1 or A2! So....mailed it in yesterday and am wondering how long for results after they hit the mail box.

And on that test....LOL! Soooooo glad I don't have neighbors nearby. LOL! Since I was taking the effort for my jersey girl I decided to go ahead and test my jersey/angus heifer (separate envelopes of course). Normally she is in your way. Not yesterday....didn't want me anywhere near her tail. So I had to work at it. Finally got hold and she took off...I wasn't prepared for that.

So....got hold again and this time I tried to get them right away but it's like her hair was welded to her tail! I sure wish we would have had snow cause I could have went skiing! LOL! But.... I got em! LOL!

Did you send them off to UCDavis? I got my results by email in about a week. That was about 18 mos ago. My two Jersey's came back A1/A2. I have a 5 mos old Jersey heifer from the A1/A2 cow and A2/A2 bull. Gotta get her tested soon.

I think ours was a week too. Technically 9 days since it included a weekend. This was only a couple of months ago.

A2 here!

I signed up for email delivery of results, and they also sent a hard copy in the mail.

Edited b/c I am a space cadet today! lol Good luck Carla and Allen!

Yep, UC Davis. So if I sent them in on Tuesday I should look for an email next Wednesday or Thursday? Oh.....patience is not a virtue I was ever fortunate enough to acquire. LOL!

Woohoo! Got an email that they got them today. SO at least I know they're there...just waiting to get looked at....waiting to tell me if I have the cow I am hoping for. Even if not, I'll love her none the less but still....anxious.

I didn't think mine took that long, maybe about 5 days??
Since it seems you got an email that they had recieved the samples, you will get an email with the results, you can also check online on their site for your results.
Good luck, I have about 4 (Dexters) that are A2/A2 and some that are A1/A2, waiting is the pits lol

No news...keep checking the site. Would it be rude to call them and ask the length of time it should take to get to mine? LOL! I hate waiting. Patience and me are having a hard time lately...I have very little left. LOL!

A1 and A2 are the types of beta-casein protein that is found in milk. There is a lot of info online about it and quite interesting actually. Interesting enough that for my college english paper I have right now I had to chose a topic to write about and I am writing about the differences in milk: pasteurized, raw and then the differences between A1 and A2. LOL! I am sure my professor thought I was crazy. LOL! But I did ask first in my defense. LOL!

LOL! You ever get a steer that gets bred please let me know....I wanna see that! LOL! Not so worried about FM with these as Elenore is a milk cow and Bonnie was a single birth from a local amish guy. I might question it but I am friends with most of that community LOL!
