When would you have this cow bred?

Our Jersey cow was AI'd but it looks like it didn't take. She is currently in standing heat, but if we have her AI'd now, her calf would be due about July 21st, when it's pretty hot here. By her next cycle it will still put her due in the heat (August 8th) of the year. Should we wait until the one after that, which would have her due end of August instead?

This would be her 2nd calf. What would you do?

I wouldn't want her calving in the heat, I would wait one if not two cycles before AI'ing her again.

Thanks MO_cows, I think we'll just wait it out for two more cycles. Her heats were easier to detect when she was a heifer, she would run the fences and bellow... not so much anymore, she just gets ORNERY. And today she tried to mount her calf and I noticed a discharge. *sigh*.

The calf is safely out of her reach now.
