Dutch Belted cow w/o papers going thru tonights sale

Got a call from a friend at the local sales barn. They got in a Dutch Belted milk cow a couple hours ago (sale is this evening), to be sold as a milk cow. She's in line to be vetted and appears generally healthy, but maybe a bit on the thin side.

Might go to the sale tonight and check her out. Any Dutch Beltie fans on here?

That would be a good grass-based milker. There's a raw (real) milk farm here in Indy that milks Dutch Belted cows.

Little too far from me to MN, BUT I may have a line on two fresh Jerseys in KY.

I contacted someone close with a Dutch Belted/Guernsey/Jersey/Red Devon heifer, but she was already gone.

Good Luck. I pray the Cow is good with a good udder, and that you can get her. I would be extremely excited.

Didn't buy her, she went for $525 and was 4 months bred, can't remember her exact weight but was between 1000 and 1100 lbs. She didn't look purebred, but healthwise seemed fine, no big red flags looking at her.

She wasn't friendly, but didn't seem agressive or anything, just not relaxed and wouldn't let you come up and try to milk her. I decided I didn't feel confident enough to take a chance on her. Maybe next time around.

I understand you being hesitant. I'm a Beltie fan, going to get a reg. bullcalf, with him and using AI we are going to start a breeding up program. I'm excited about it1 =)
