My Steer is in Love with my new mare

Well, Norman is in love, and it is not my new little heifer. I have a new mare, and when she is turned out with Duece my gelding and Norman, my steer, he follows her about with a goofy look on his face, and when she is grazing makes a half hearted effort to mount her, of course as soon as he puts his chin on her rump she lets him have it with both barrels, he walks away sulking but comes back moony again. She just kicks him and goes on grazing, does not seem particularily upset by it, but wondering if I should put him up? He weighs alot more than she does but he never even gets close to putting any weight on her. Poor Norman has no idea he is a cow...

Oh, Poor Norman. He probably thinks she'll come around if he keeps coming back. My nubian buck is ready for romance as well and since I haven't put the girls in with him yet, he has decided my female anatolian shepherd will work. Unfortunately for him, she is not interested.

It doesn't even seem to be lust, in all the years I have had Norman I have never seen his wankie; not even while peeing, geldings I have had that have mounted mares would drop their sheaths...not Norman...not even sure he has one It is almost like some buried instinct "I like her, guess I am supposed to do this".

My guernsey steer mounted Nelly, the jenny. She gave him the most hateful look and kicked him repeatedly and then turned around and bit him. Makes me wonder how soon he will try that again. Dumb creature........
