At least they redeem themselves.....

Last night, if that had been the night that I was deciding if I was going to buy my milk cow.....I would have ran. LOL! I have been letting an orphaned calf nurse on Elenore and we had all the kinks worked out to where she let me milk first then stood and let him nurse. Simple right? Silly me....last night I decided to milk her in a different spot that was easier to get to for me. Oh my gosh! She went poo on the calfs head, she kicked, wouldn't hold still and was just flat terrible. She was great for me beforehand in this new spot, but the calf was NOT welcome into her space at that time! LOL! I didn't know what to make of it and was ready to . LOL!

This morning? Milked her in the new spot, she stood completely still eating her grain and let me milk her just fine. THEN.....I moved her to her old spot and let the calf in....perfect. LOL! I completely don't understand cows sometimes. LOL!

Animals are funny old things. The slightest change and the sky is falling. I find that the more I'm around my critters the more that I depend on routine as well. I got awfully freaked out at the office when my computer monitor had been moved. At least they get to poop to show their displeasure!

The cows love routine-- mine get upset and antsy when I move a watertrough, or change the location of the mineral feeder and they get downright hateful when I decide to milk in a new location. Gotta love em---or we would most certainly eat em! LOL
