mold on feed

Hello, I bought some four way feed for my beef cow. It is the kind with molasas mixed in. I noticed it was all full of mold. My feed store exchanged it and said to just throw away the bad feed.
Will this hurt my cow to feed it a little of this mixed in?

Google "moldy cattle feed" and read about the risks.

You can mix it in your compost.

I'd feed it to my chickens - they are low cost (so if they die from it no big loss) and eat anything - and make compost out of it eventually also!

I guess you could try to make a mash out of it - I have never made a mash.

depends on your cows. spoiled bucket calfs used to cream of the crop feed would have problems, but most cows don't have a problem with a percent of mold in the feed. I would not exceed about 10% at a time, maybe less to start with. my cows hit the leftovers in the feed stack as soon as I turn them out in the spring and its usually got a fair amount of mold. the bigest concern I have is feeding wet alfalfa, that hurts them worse than a little mold.

Thank you all for you advise. I think I'll just compost to be safe.

Thanks
