Here's a new one.......

Not sure if anyone remembers a few months back I got a blind Holstein heifer from a dairy farm i get bull calves from. The guy gave her to me, thinking she was going to be no good...... Well I have fallen in love with this little heifer, she is 7 months old now and a love. She is great, she gets around really well (like everyone said she would) I have decided that we will keep her as a milker.

So yesterday I was giving her, her regular rub down as she was eating and I thought I would start rubbing her udder area, so she is used to it as she grows............ Well, I found what I can only explain as testicles???? There are 2 "balls" just behind her udder, they both are shaped like testicles, they both have cords going from the top of them into the gut. She was not a twin. She what is going on??? This is not the kind of thing I am going to call a vet about, whats the point, she will either be a milker or a freezer filler.

Anyone had a he/she cow before?????

I would think hermaphrodite too - this calf doesn't have much going for it at all does it

Unlike you though, I would be having a yarn to the vet - this is how we learn and add to our knowledge base.

Cheers,
Ronnie

I'd be calling the vet just to see if she's breedable or not. Worth knowing if she can be a long-time member of your farm, or freezer filler
