Dung Beetles

http://www.attra.org/attra-pub/dungbeetle.html

I have read this article along with many others and I try to manage for dung beetles.

I have a few questions regarding dung beetles and fly management that I hope someone with more experience can answer for me.

A lot of fly control topics suggest using chickens and guinea fowl to help break apart the cow pies - my question is this - what impact on dung beetles does this have?

I have some laying hens but they are kept up and not allowed to free range - it's just not possible since I don't live on my farm yet - going to change this year however. I know my chickens eat any bug they can find and dung beetles would be no exception. Doesn't using fowl also reduce dung beetle populations significantly?

Our free range chickens only cover a couple of acres, they just don't roam all that far even though they could. So it's likely the cattle will have a wider "range" and there will be manure patties left for the dung beetles that the chickens never get to.
