Looking For a Jersey Heifer

Hi All,
I am looking for a young jersey heifer, bottle baby is just fine, to add to our farm. If anyone see or hears of one in the Middle Tennessee area, please let me know. I am willing to drive into Kentucky, Alabama or Arkanas as well.

Thanks!

Have you tried your local Craigslist or the American Jersey Cattle Association?

I have been checking craigslist and have contacted everyone within 150 miles of me on teh American Jersey Cattle Association. Nobody has any for sale right now... But I am determined....so I'll keep at it.

Here is another place that you might try. You may have to register and make four or five posts before you can access this section.

Lamoncha, I'm very familiar with that auction been there many times...However I don't go as often as I used to. If you ever want a calf just e-mail me and I'd be glad to talk about other options besides the auction...Topside

Yes, it would only take me about an hour or an hour and a 1/2 to get there. Looking at their details though it looks more like Holsteins are the breed that they sell. Do you know if they get Jerseys as well. I live right down the road from a Dairy that raises holsteins so I can find them easily. Its the Jersey breed that I am having trouble finding.

Hi I'm just south of Nashville near the Saturn Car plant near Spring Hill TN. I have a part jersey looking heifer that is due like right now. She is being checked through out the day and twice during the night, that how close she is. .She does have horns and has nice long teats for a heifer. Told my brother just yesterday evening she sure would make a nice little homesteading milk cow. She is breed to a angus. I would have to check with my two farming parterners, which are my two brothers and see what they think she would be worth on the market.. She is very friendly but not tamed as such. I'll repost tonight after I speak to my brothers. We don't milk cattle, did when I was a child 50 years ago, had a grade a dairy on the same home place we farm now. . We have 50 beef cows, with 22 calves on the ground right now. Sandy

If getting a perfect top-shelf Jersey calf meant a lot, a whole lot, then I'd contact SpringValley "Marc" and set something up....A bottle baby Jersey can fit in the back seat of a car....Topside
