mowed some hay today !

I have been buying hay for some time now, didn`t think I was going to be that short. So today I mowed some hay, grass on the most part. I plan on hauling manure on it, plowing it up and putting corn in that spot. Have some more to do, but think I`ll wait till next week and do that, let it get a bit taller before mowing. Funny how them critters keep eating when your short of hay. > Thanks Marc:happy0035:

Being short on hay causes them to eat faster, I am pretty convinced.

Too bad you cant fence that area up and let the cows chop their own grass, speread their own manure too.

Dont work too hard.

I do have the cows and some heifers out on pasture, but I always need hay for calves and horses and few other things. > Marc

We would like to start soon but we have no weather for it, weather channel has a ten day forcast with rain every single day. We started the 15th last year but the grass is behind this year, we were HOPEING to start a week from tomorrow but we shall see. I always thought it was smart to take the hay off before you plowed it up, seems like such a waste to plow grass under that is tall enough to cut. I am sure the animals really enjoyed it being this early!
