What would you pay.........

Me and my hubby are getting away for a overnight trip!!!

my problem... trying to find someone to milk for me.... I have a friend/neighbor she has offered before. But I am wondering what should I offer to pay her??? saturday am and pm milking and sunday am, so it would be 3 milkings and I have a machine. Including clean up it takes about 45 minutes, 2 cows. My biggest problems and source of anxiety is that my little 17 month old heifer, she is really good, has been a breeze to parlor break. But I do not want someone that is going to scare her or be to rough. That is why I am thinking of this friend. She is a very gentle horse person. My hubby does not really like her, thinks she is flaky. LOL But I think she will be perfect!

I was going to offer her milk, she is constantly asking for some, either as mush as she wants over the weekend and some cash? or milk when ever she wants it??? She is a newly single mom with 4 mouths to feed. I have lots of milk right now, so the amount is not a concern.

Just wondering what others pay for farm sitting. All the animals will have a round bale out, so she will not have to feed, we have a creek for water, so no watering. Just come milk, clean up and leave.

I would give her 3 milkings worth of milk, spread out however much time it took for her to use it.

I would offer the milk and maybe to watch her kids one time so she can have some quiet time.

You could offer to take care of her horses when she needs to go away, and give her milk.

Have you asked her what she wants, she may say nothing, so then offer the milk. She may love the milk, and that would be enough. > Marc

I asked her if she wanted $$ or milk and she was thrilled with milk! So it is going to work out great! She is thrilled, she offered to give me a day a week off milking in trade for milk I kinda like milking so I don't feel like a need a day off. But it will be nice to have a person that I can call!
