Dont tell the cows this...

BUT, as soon as this rain stops and the ground firms up a bit...

they get to go out in the alfalfa for the first time this spring!!!

Oh, it will be GRAND!

I feel like I know a secret and was just dying to share it.
Looking forward to the milk increase, even if there will be some squirty poo for a couple days.

My cows are jealous! We still have 2-3 inches of snow on our pastures. We usually figure around the first of May we can get them out but if it doesn't warm up soon it may be later.

My cows are absolutely pitching fits! I have 30 acres of wheat that I will be grazing but I want a little more height on it before I start rotating them through it. They know it's there and they want it!

I'm sure you know this, but for any newbies here, be VERY careful about introducing cattle to fresh pasture after hay, especially alfalfa. They can easily bloat.
