More Of Our Calving Season

Here's a bunch of photos from the last couple days, we're getting 6-10 calves a day right now.

Here's our 3rd set of twins, I helped her out this morning. Daughter was the photographer,

More photos by DD,

The smallest calf of the year... Weighed 42 lbs, I think each of those twins will weigh about twice as much as this calf :lol2:

Hobbled cow, she doesn't want to raise 2 calves, but we're winning the battle, she has her own calf and one of our earlier twins.

Close up of how we have her hobbled.

Cow that had cancer eye, took her to the vet last fall and had it fixed. Said she had about a 50% chance of it not coming back. So far, so good.

Dumb calf, would suck everything but his mama's teats, granted she doesn't have a super udder, but it isn't that bad.... Bottle fed him his first meal of colostrum, then had to teach him how to pick up her teats. I think he'll be OK now... He had the best bed on the place though...

Another nice batch of pics. Your daughter sure has a cute smile!

Too bad the Tar X Herf didn't get the dark eye pigment. Thanks for thinking of me.

I just remembered you asking about Tar x Heref. So since she finally had a Heref calf I posted the pic. I'll post again when the calf is bigger.

You look gorgeous in your barn gear pulling calves. A true cowgirl! That pic makes me smile.
