Slaughter Bull

Will the meat from a young bull that still has all his parts have a differant taste than a Steer?

It may taste a bit differant, but sure alot better than store bought crap you buy. More than likely you will never know the differance, so enjoy the meat. > Marc

I raise my bulls until they are 20-24 months old and butcher. I don't know that they taste any difference as I've not ate one the way I feed that has been steered. I do know that they are delicious!

We usually castrate pretty early, but did have a young bull that we bought turn a bit mean so he went in the freezer. I really didnt notice a difference in the taste vs steer. He was about 18 months old.

NO. We butchered a 4 year old bull once. Was able to pan fry the steaks and the meat tastes the same as the steer meat and the old cow meat.

He is an older feeder calf that weighs about 850. Appears to be a Herford/Angus cross.
I would say his frame is 80% Complete
I do not Know his age because we got him from the sale when he weighted about 750.
