Calves in Bale Feeder

Hey! I posted the question a few weeks ago of how to keep half grown calves out of the big bale feeders and wasting a bunch of hay. I put my hay ring or feeder upside down on the last bale, and it has worked. The double ring at what is typically the bottom sits low enough when turned upside down that my calves at this stage will not slip inside. Doing this has saved considerable hay, even if the neighbors think I'm crazy!

just let the neighbors think what they want....if it works KEEP working it till it no longer WORKS..then change to something else

saving hay is one mouth full at a time and pretty soon you have saved a bale

hhhmmmm..... might work for the heifers, but I doubt if it'd slow down the goats much!
