Thumbs up Sold every drop.

As most of you know, we sell raw milk, now most days as of late leaves me with more milk than I can sell. Well I started drying up cows because they are going to start having calves the next few months. Well have been picking up a few new customers over the last couple weeks, and boom, today I sold every drop in the tank, and have an order for twenty gallons for Wednesday, Ten for Thursday and that is just the big orders. Not counting the one and two gallons that come without calling. Don`t know weather its the nice days that are bringing them out or what. But I hope it keeps up, next cow should calve in a few weeks. Hope this keeps up, I guess the Big Guy upstairs wants me to keep milking. > Thanks Marc

Good to hear that Marc! I know you were trying to sell some cows not too long ago, now it's turning around for you. Great news.

That is great! In my parts, consumers are starting to care where their food comes from, and whether or not Wal-Mart will be out when they need it.

Now I`m afraid I may start making people mad as they are going to have to call ahead to make sure I have enough milk if they want a larger quantity. As of the Monday drain off, I`m playing catch up now filling orders. I dumped 40 gallons last week and more in weeks before, and now I`m running short. Oh the problems we have to face selling raw milk. > Thanks for all your nice words my HT friends. > Marc

If it's not one thing, it's another. Glad you are selling milk though and really wish I were closer!

Callie, I have told you to move closer to me like maybe once a month? You know I have a house that you could live in, then you could come milk cows when ever you needed a cow fix any time you needed one..HeHe > Thanks Marc

Congrats Marc!

If you have a heifer calf or a cow you aren't milking and you decide to part with, we'd be interested. I'm glad with this new you might be able to keep the herd!

Congrats! With milk it's always either going to be too much or too little milk. It feels good when your animals can feed themselves- and more!

Not really, Tad.

Some folks get upset if you don't have the milk for them when they want it. Some may just show up and find out it has all been promised so they feel they made a trip for nothing. Others may call only to be told that it is available one day, but not another. If the day it is available for them is not convenient for their schedule, they can get disgruntled and quit calling or quit coming out.

It's a fine line to walk to please everyone.

Marc, are you taking pre-orders and getting a deposit or just first-come/first-serve? I always hated when we had to turn down someone for milk because someone else was supposed to pick it up and then never showed.

Cyndi, knows all to well, you hit the nail on the head. I have never had anyone not come to get there milk, and I also know they don`t like being told when they can come to get milk. They want milk and they want it NOW. Most people don`t want to wait, but they have had to this week, as I have been playing catch up. I would really like to start setting up certain days for everyone to come and get their milk, instead of coming whenever they want to. But they want to come when ever, Americans they never had it so good. > Thanks Marc

Whoo Hooo! Word is spreading about your milk. The nice weather helps too. You just never know when you will have a run on milk. I still get caught off guard. Now I have enough cows in milk that I usually don't run out. So much less stressful! I run things on a first come first serve basis.
