Marc do you hand carry your milk and pour into the tank? Just wondering.

Yep, every drop of milk is carried into the milkhouse and poured into the strainer on top of the tank, is there some other way for it to get there ? hehe, I do have a pipeline as some of you will notice the reciever jar in the milkhouse photo, but I have never finished putting it in. I`m such a throw back from the fifties, And I`m happy doing it that way. > Thanks marc

The first four cows are some of my best cows. I think the world of my cows, and I think you can tell that from the picture. I have had no offers of buying my cows and this close to spring I think I will keep them now. We will see what next fall brings as to wether we will be milking next winter. > Thanks Marc

Beautiful ladies you have there.

Thanks so much for sharing these photos
I hope the milk business turns around for you this year. Hate to think of good folks like you selling out.

Thanks for sharing the pictures of your set up, Marc. It's very nice. I wish I had something close to it. For now, I milk in the barn aisle and it's working fine. I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it, right?
Your line up of Jerseys in impressive. Look at those udders! Very nice. You have a good eye for cows. Are they purchased or from your breedings?

Beautiful girls! I can tell you spoil them. I have to say though, I had a set up like that in WI. Don't miss it one bit. I love my parlor! All though, I wish I had your small tank. My 1000 gal tank is absolute overkill with what I'm doing now.

Wow. look at all those beautiful Jersey butts. And that huge full udder! I'm having an udder envy moment. I REALLY want a jersey for our dairy cow.
That's a really nice clean, efficient setup. Very nice.

Is that a wheelbarrow by the door? Use an Armstrong barn cleaner?

Cows facing the center aisle~~~~~~~~That's how our dairy barn was.
Most all of our neighbors barns are the opposite with the cows facing outward.
Your photos bring back many memories.

Yep Mom Tallpines, cows facing in is easier to feed, but harder to milk. When my dad ran the farm we milked 60 head and two of us milked, we used two milkers each side that way you didn`t have to run from one side to the other for milking. I have grown up in this barn, was two years old when my dad bought this place, and if I spend my last day on earth in this barn it will be a good day. But hopefully that will be 40 to 50 years from now. > Thanks Marc

Carla, most of our cows in this picture are purchased cows, so that tells you I have a good eye for good cows. He He > Thanks Marc

Your cows sure are pretty!
I'm still learning what to look for in a cow. Maybe one day I'll have an eye for a cow such as these.
