Shorthorn Cows (photos)

Here are some girls that know how to work for their living. No babying going on around here.

Purebred Shorthorn
Born in 2002, the red and white cow is dam/grand dam to about 10 of our SS and SSx cows. Including the black cow in front of her.

Thank you. A good hair coat and some fat will keep them pretty good, even when it gets really cold. The cow's are in the best condition that they have ever been in. We had an exceptional year as far as rain. They raised bigger calves and still put on good condition.

I love shorthorn cattle. Our very first milk cow was a milking shorthorn named Betsy. We purchased several milking shorthorn heifers to add to our first small herd. Their blood is still evident in some of our older beef cows. These cows are not very big, but they milk well and raise great calves.
